Château Carlmagnus is located in Fronsac, in the Libournais vineyard. Fronsac is known as one of the regions with the best quality/price ratio in Bordeaux red wines. Carlmagnus is known for having labels with vibrant colors and original themes for each vintage. Owner Arnaud Roux-Oulie is a man of many talents. He is not only a winemaker, but an artist who expresses his passion for painting through wine labels. The 2020 vintage (Imagine 80th Anniversary special edition) is to commemorate John Lennon's 80th birthday in 2020. The 2020 Carlmagnus has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and vivacious scents of redcurrant jelly, ripe black plums and boysenberries, plus hints of black truffles, lavender and cracked black pepper. The medium to full-bodied palate fills the mouth with intense red and black fruit layers, supported by ripe, rounded tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing long and earthy. It has earned 91-93pt from Robert Parker, cheers!

The deep garnet-purple colored 2019 Carlmagnus bursts from the glass with ripe black and blue fruit notions of plums preserves, blueberry compote and blackberry pie with hints of hoisin, licorice and clove oil plus a touch of dark chocolate.
