Native to the northwestern corner of the Iberian Peninsula, mencia is known for its thick skins and dark fruit and floral characteristics.
A nervy nose with some gravel minerals and a very subtle, lactic and nutty edge to the limey fruit and green apples. Some fine macadamia nuts, too. Intense limey flavors and mealy acidity bind together, driving the textured, medium to full bodied palate to a long, creamy yet nuanced finish. JS
