Along the way to Barolo Cesare is struck by Roberto Voerzio, in the small village of La Morra, where the simple idea of the Cru is crucial and the finesse dominates the structure and power. The two work together, day by day, and Cesare absorbs as much as he can from the master: deep care of the vineyard and respect for the natural environment, extremely low yield per plant, a very light touch in the cellar, primacy of the content respect to the container (barrique or big barrel, new or used). Cesare’s wines express themselves slowly, with incredible balance and elegance. Cesare Bussolo is the emerging star among the young Barolo producers, no doubt his wines will quickly reach the fame – and the quotations – of the ones produced by the big names like his mentor Roberto Voerzio.
