    DOMAINE de la VOUGERAIE

    One of Burgundy’s leading domaines

    Founded since 1964


    Based in the town of Premeaux-Prissey in France, Domaine de la Vougeraie was created by joining the Boisset family’s vineyards and the other estates acquired over a nearly 50-years period from the year of 1964.


    Being one of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Vougeraie is a patchwork of 74 plots covering 42 hectares that produces 36 appellations all together. Two-thirds of the estates are on the Côte de Nuits, one-third on the Côte de Beaune, making the Boisset family estate the biggest producer of wine in Burgundy. 
     

    Strictly adheres to organic & biodynamic farming

    All the domaine’s vineyards use certified organic & biodynamic techniques. To improve soil structure and conditions, cow dungs are packed into horns and buried in the soil over winter. They are then diluted with water and sprayed on a ‘root day’ to encourage root growth and depth.

     

    What makes this winery extra special is how it worked according to the phases of the moon. Just in the same way as how moon influences the tide, the moon ascending is when the plants on earth are filled with strength (a time for harvesting), and the moon descending is when the soil is most receptive (a time for planting) and when the least harm can be done to vines.
