2019 Syrah la Serenne begins with a gorgeous nose that boasts aromas of black raspberry compote, spiced plums and cinnamon-sprinkled cherries before dusty roses and lavender flutter from the glass. Medium to full-bodied, the palate displays an elegant array of complexity with enticing flavors of dried herbs, sweet black fruits and a subtle spice tone that gives way to buttressing tannins across the mid-palate. RP
The wine is already very complex, wafting from the glass with notes of grilled meat, dried lavender, pepper and candied peel. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and lavish, with a layered mid-palate, fine-grained structuring tannins, sappy acids and a sapid, saline finish. RP
