Since it was settled by George Swinney in 1922, the Swinney family is inextricably linked to Frankland River region in Great Southern for more than 100 years. In the 1990s they decided to diversify their lands and planted 160ha of vines across 4 vineyards in their grape growing and grazing property which has been the home of the family for four generations.

Shiraz is the most important variety of the estate, supplemented by some unique bush-vine trained Grenache and Mourvèdre, a rarity in this part of the world, creating concentrated wines with dark fruits characters underlined by spicy and savoury notes, which catch the attentions of various wine critics, including the recent achievement of Australian Vineyard of the Year 2020 by Young Guns of Wine Award in Australia.
