Japanese Sake is undoubtedly popular in Hong Kong, but what about wines made in Japan? Under the magical scenery of Mount Fuji, Japan is making incredible wines in Yamanashi Prefecture (山梨縣) - the cradle of modern Japanese wine industry. The new generation with their boutique wineries are taking a 150-year-old industry and its native grape varieties, including Koshu (甲州) and Muscat Bailey A, to the world map of fine wines.
On Sep 3 (Thu), winemaker Yuki Hirayama 平山繁之, who founded 98WINEs with his Burgundy experience and produces highly sought-after artisanal wines in extremely limited production that are rarely seen outside Japan, will join hands with the master Kenichi Ohashi 大橋健一 MW, the only Japanese Master of Wine, to discover the enchanted wines from this beloved country.
