About The Wine
Outstanding. Medium bodied and drawn long with incredibly fine, firm, graphite-laced tannins. Wow factor stuff, each sip a reset of the palate, so beautifully poised and refreshing. Flamboyant wood smoke and sandalwood scents, a bit too much of the seasoning here, but underlying dark cherry, paprika, hazelnut and pepper. The palate similarly finds these characters, cherry, paprika, smoky spice, nuttiness, and woven so beautifully together. JH

Swinney Farvie Grenache 2019
Profoundly aromatic, with layers of complexity that evolve over time in the glass. Initially dark fruited with subtle spice, the wine opens to exhibit perfumed red cherries, rhubarb, violets and salted liquorice. There is a beautiful clarity of fruit flavours including strawberry cream, iodine and plum skins. The wine reveals a palate of fine detail and typical ferrous minerality - beautifully elegant but with great depth and penetration.
