About The Pack
Subdued aromas of talc, chalk, orchard fruits, tatami straw, finger lime and fresh lemonade. Dry and tightly furled to a point that verges on severity. There is bountiful extract that pummels the cheeks and stains the palate, suggestive of a bright future despite the unyielding youthfulness now. From biodynamically grown grapes. JS
A workout in the glass reveals green apple, Asian pear, anise, spa salts and chalky pungency. The ripeness is on point. Properly mid-weighted, forceful of extract and dutifully long. This will age well across the mid-term, as its track record attests. From biodynamically grown grapes. JS
The 2023 Alea Riesling leads with roasted pineapple, green apples, hints of lychee and juniper, lemon oil and coriander. The fruit is a little quieter this year, but it's no less "present." It is a beautiful wine, fleshy and soft, but it still remains tethered to the tracks of very fine, very firm acidity. 12.5% alcohol. RP
