Cab, shiraz and merlot. While this warm region is home to shiraz and more recently, a cornucopia of exciting Mediterranean propositions, there is fine old vine cabernet, too. Here, an example of what it brings. Redcurrants, tomato bush, mint, lilac and an enveloping fold of sappy tannins directing the long, impressive finish. Very good drinking. JS
