Britain is great, in many aspects, including sparkling wines today. The British fizz is made in exactly the same way with Champagne across the English Channel, from the vineyards in southeastern England with very similar chalky soils. Furthermore, recent studies have showed that the English actually invented the traditional method in 1662, decades before the French monk Dom Pérignon.
Located in southeastern England, Gusbourne is among the top and most well-known producers in Britian. Headed by winemaker Charlie Holland (only 3-time winner of the IWSC English Wine Producer of the Year), the team meticulously crafts world-class sparkling wines with hand-picked grapes only from estate vineyards. On 8 Sep (Thu), Ms. Laura Rhys MS, Global Brand Ambassador of Gusbourne and Master Sommelier, will join us online and share the story of these magical bubbles from England.
