Montes was founded in 1988 by Aurelio Montes Sr. along with three other partners, with the philosophy of producing “first growth” wines from Chile. Upon the creation of the Montes Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon, the first “premium” wine to be exported from Chile, Montes is considered as the iconic expression of quality wines from Chile, proving the wines of the country are on a par with other best example around the world.

On 30 Jun (Thu), Mr. Aurelio Montes Jr., 2nd generation family winemaker of Montes, will join us online to share the story of Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon, the pioneer wine that showed the way to all other Chilean premium wines. To celebrate the new-vintage release, we will be tasting 7 vintages of Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon vertically and explore the evolution of this iconic Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon.
