    • Moët & Chandon is thrilled to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Moët Impérial, an important milestone in the extraordinary journey of a global icon of celebration.

To mark this moment, the Maison is delighted to unveil a limited-edition bottle inscribed with a badge of honor - the “I” of “Impérial” – as a crowning tribute to the precious 150-year history of this remarkable champagne.

In 1810, Madame Clicquot invented the first Vintage Champagne, in 2008 Veuve Clicquot declared the 65th vintage of the Maison.

As with every Veuve Clicquot champagne, Pinot Noir dominates (61%) and provides the structure that is so typically Veuve Clicquot, followed by Chardonnay (34%) that adds finesse and elegance essential in a perfectly balanced wine, and then Meunier (5%) that rounds out the blend. New to Vintage 2008 is that 5% of the wines were produced and aged in large wooden casks (foudres) from forests in Central France, and this addition increases the champagne’s strength and aromatic richness. The cask-aged wines act as spices to the blend, bringing very lightly woody, vanilla and toasted aromas.

    KRUG

Krug has always lived up to its reputation as the first and still unique Champagne House to create only Prestige Champagne every year since its foundation. The House was founded in Reims in 1843, by Joseph Krug, a visionary non-conformist with an uncompromising philosophy.

Having understood that the true essence of Champagne is pleasure itself, his dream was to offer the very best Champagne every single year, regardless of climate annual variations. Paying close attention to the vineyard’s character, respecting the individuality of each plot and its wine, as well as building an extensive library of reserve wines from many different years allowed Joseph Krug to fulfil his dream.

With a very original approach to Champagne making, he decided to go beyond the notion of vintage to create the fullest expression of Champagne every year. Thus, he founded a House in which all Champagnes are of the same level of distinction, each illustrating a particular expression of nature.
