Award-winning wines:
Jim Barry – Winner of 2020 Halliday’s Winery of the Year. The McRae Wood Shiraz is made from grapes designated for the winery’s flagship, The Armagh, and blended with fruit from special parcels from the family’s other Clare Valley vineyards.
Mount Mary – As the winner of 2018 Halliday ‘Winery of the Year 2018', Mount Mary is one of the most highly-regarded producers, making premium single estate wines in limited quantities. Quintet is one of the Australian wine icons, alongside Penfolds Grange and Henschke Hill of Grace.
Thistledown - Committed to re-establishing Grenache as South Australia’s signature variety, Giles Cooke MW and Fergal Tynan MW established the winery in 2010. While Sands of Time 2022 is the newly released vintage, the past 5 vintages have scored 95pt or more from James Halliday; and Vintage 2019 has won the James Halliday Grenache Challenge, showing great consistency in quality.
Yarra Yering – Named the 2022 Halliday Winery of the Year, while Dry Red No. 1 was the 2022 Halliday Wine of the Year. These accolades follow the naming of Sarah Crowe as the 2017 Halliday Australian Winemaker of the Year. Sarah has been producing wines of elegance and sophistication – and with great purity of fruit born of exceptional terroir.
