We have shortlisted 5 movies and TV dramas that are currently available on Netflix, with genres of fantasy animation, romantic, comedy, mystery, action and horror. There must be at least one that suits your taste! We have also paired each of our selections with a corresponding wine type which can help immersing yourselves into the story. Let’s enjoy the Easter Holiday with wine and Netflix!
1. Studio Ghibli Animation Series
Good news to fans of Hayao Miyazaki! Netflix announced that a total of 21 films from Studio Ghibli will be available before Easter Holiday, including Academy Award-winning animated film “Spirited Away” and other classic animations like “My Neighbor Totoro”, “Castle in the Sky”, “Howl’s Moving Castle”, “Kiki’s Delivery Service” and “Princess Mononoke” and more. Enjoy the journey to the whimsical and wonderful world of animation with a cup of Sake, which is as fascinating as the world of fantasy; or a glass of wine with creative wine labels, paying tribute to Hayao Miyazaki’s endless creativity.
2. Modern Family
As a festival full of joy, comedies are definitely perfect for Easter celebrations! Winning the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series for five consecutive years, “Modern Family” has been the one of the most popular sitcoms over the last decade. Before watching the series finale of Modern Family, which will air in April, let’s revisit the past 10 cheerful seasons on Netflix again. A celebratory Champagne would be perfect to go with the fun and upbeat atmosphere of this joyful comedy!

South Korean television series “Crash Landing on You”, featuring famous actors Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin, is a romantic love story across the boundary of South and North Korea. The love chemistry between the couple has won the hearts of many, making it a must-watch romantic drama of the year! When watching this drama, pair it with off-dry and pinkish wine like Rosé to create a romantic atmosphere. 4. Latest Oscar’s Best Director Bong Joon-ho’s collection
Bong Joon-ho has won the best director in Oscar for “Parasite” recently, whose films are always full of ingeniously conceived plots and surprising twists, illustrating the complex humanity and criticizing the social phenomena. We can now watch Bong Joon-ho’s 3 wonderful films including “The Host”, “Snowpiercer” and “Okja” on Netflix. To enjoy the thoughtful, reflective and inspiring masterpieces, red wines with good complexity would be perfect.
5. Kingdom
The zombie thriller Korean drama Kingdom has been highly acclaimed by many and season 2 of the drama will be back on Netflix in March! Characters must fend off a coup and fight zombies, or else they will become delicious food for the zombies. The plot of “Kingdom” is full of tension and horror, making one trembles with fear! To enjoy horror movies, it is nice to pair with spirits to embolden yourselves. Just a sip of spirit can get you freshened up and have your courage boosted for the 2 seasons of “Kingdom”.
