Displaying a deep ruby color at the core and firm red ruby rim, the nose opens to the mineral tension expected of Red Mountain with a dark red-fruited essence, black cherry, dark plum and dusty raspberry with an elegant oak richness and dusty red flower petals. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is rich and mineral on the palate, showing a spicy cinnamon tone that builds with a firm tannic grip. As the wine sits on the palate, it unpacks more of its complexities, showing precision and finesse. A brilliant wine, it ends with a long, lingering finish that will show beautifully for more than a decade. Absolutely delicious.
Tasted from barrel, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Père de Famille was displaying attractive aromas of cassis, wild blueberries, anise and flowers, followed by a full-bodied, very concentrated, ample and intense palate that was still quite youthfully chewy and needs a little more time to resolve before it's bottled. It's crunchy and taut, with lots of coiled power and volume lurking behind its youthfully prominent structure. The 2016 is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot. RP

This is a complex and subtle red with chocolate, spice and walnut aromas and flavors. Medium-to full-bodied. Tile and iron undertones. Juicy and flavorful on the finish. A beautiful, balanced red. Very fine, polished tannins. Subtle and friendly. Regional blend that shows the story of the vintage. JS
