Raventós i Blanc is inextricably linked to a family with 21 generations of love to their land and grape-growing tradition since 1497. The Raventós has the longest documented family viticulture history in Europe and is the first producer of bottle-fermented wine in Spain with native grapes. In 2012, the family decided to leave DO Cava and applied for a new appellation of Conca del Riu Anoia to make terroir-driven wines from their own vineyards. In their words, it is the “grower champagne” equivalent of Spanish sparkling wines.
On 24th Mar (Thu), Mr. Pepe Raventós, the 21st generation of Raventós family, will join us online and share with us their vintage-only sparkling wines made solely with indigenous grapes sourced from their Biodynamic-certified estate vineyards with enormous deposits of fossils within the limestone bedrock, contributing to the unique minerality and salinity founded in their wines.
