Sangiovese is the most widely planted wine grape in Italy, and probably one of the most representative varieties of the country. Its kingdom is located in the central part of Italy, particularly Tuscany, where it is the sole permitted grape in Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, and the base of the blend of Chianti Classico DOCG and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG.
On 23 July (Thu), we will have the opportunity to hear from three winery owners, namely Count Francesco M. Cinzano of Col d’Orcia, Giovanni Mazzei of Mazzei family and Virginie Saverys of Avignonesi, to discover the nuances of Sangiovese in terms of the climates, soils and wine styles in these three most important appellations in Tuscany.
