More than 20 years ago, Penfolds embarked on a new bold endeavor. Our own American Dream. Importing vine cuttings from South Australia’s esteemed Kalimna and Magill Estate vineyards and selectively planting them in California, we took our first steps towards creating true wines of the world — unbound by country, vine, or time. Today, we welcome the fruit of that endeavor with the inaugural release of the Penfolds California Collection.

The Penfolds California Collection is a remarkable collaboration between Northern and Southern hemispheres. Using time-honored winemaking techniques, we’ve crafted a range of wines that presents the best regional characteristics of California in a style that is distinctly Penfolds.

This latest evolution of the legendary Penfolds House Style is the start of a new chapter. Here's to the next 176 years of Penfolds.

Quantum Bin 98 Wine Of The World Cabernet Sauvignon

Penfolds Quantum Bin 98 is the culmination of a 20-year collaboration between Northern and Southern hemispheres. The flagship wine of our California Collection, Quantum is a true wine of the world, unbound by country, vine, or time.

A powerful expression of the Penfolds blending style, Quantum is made with carefully selected grapes sought out for their intense flavor and well-structured tannins. The result is a wine that defies convention and expectation, offering equal parts grace and complexity.

Bin 149 Wine Of The World Cabernet Sauvignon

Penfolds Bin 149 derives its name from the percentage of South Australian Cabernet Sauvignon that’s woven into the blend. Its unique worldly disposition sets it apart from other California wines, and is a testament to the power of the legendary Penfolds House Style. A wine both distinctive and of distinction, Bin 149 showcases a multidimensional palate of strong Napa Valley tannins and intense dark fruit, with an Australian twist.

Bin 704 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Steeped in Penfolds winemaking tradition yet still embracing modernity, Bin 704 seeks to redefine Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon through a Penfolds lens. Being mindful of varietal nuances, regional essence and silk-like textural definition, the wine is nurtured in French oak barriques for maturation.

The name ‘Bin 704’ draws inspiration from the ‘mirror’ or ‘reverse’ image of its Australian stablemate, Bin 407, a wine which respects varietal expression.
