The fruit, all beautifully ripe boysenberry and plum, shows red plum and raspberry top notes with a captivating perfume of citrus and almond blossom with hints of souk-like spice, ironstone and earth. Length of flavour is a common leitmotif with Dan Standish's wines, and that is certainly the case here, the wine sailing along in perfect trim and true to its subregional origins. Lovely stuff. JH
