This is a crazy red with dried chipotle and red chili pepper character with hints of dark fruits. Blueberry concentration. Full body, with fabulous fruit and an underlying firm tannin structure. Very silky tannins. This is the best carmenere-based red from Chile. JS

The complexity of this is something very special with dark berries, hot stone, iodine, and oyster shells. Full-bodied, very tight and polished with creamy tannins that envelop your palate, caressing every inch. Deep and dark fruit and wet earth at the finish. JS

Consistently one of the best and most layered carmeneres from Chile and, indeed, the world. Intriguing Cuban cigar and roasted bay-leaf character to the blackcurrants, blackberries and exotic spices. Some sandalwood, black chocolate, cedar and baked red chili pepper, too. Full-bodied, creamy and voluptuous, but still fresh and juicy, with dried-leaf, dark-olive and finely ground cocoa-powder character. Dusty tannins and a long, refined finish. JS

This is perhaps the greatest Purple Angel ever. Full body, tight and compressed with an amazing texture and density. Fantastic fine tannins that are silky and polished. I love the energy and intensity. A blend of 92% carmenere and 8% petit verdot. One for the cellar but I can't wait to drink it again. JS

Elegant on the nose, with aromas of ripe red and black berries over a background of sweet notes. Being stored in French oak barrels adds aromas of dark chocolate, coffee which go with the typical fruity aromas of this variety. Well structured on the palate, with smooth and full tannins.

A consistent Purple Angel that really delivers the carmenere’s plushness when ripened well. Dark olives, blackberries and red chili chocolate with a splash of spice and cigar box. Fleshy and concentrated with plenty of fine-grained tannins that extend to a very creamy finish. JS
