Very aromatic with hazelnuts and hints of tar, orange peel and dried strawberry. Full-bodied, very tight and tannic with wonderful texture. Very racy and tight at the end. From organically grown grapes. Needs three or four years to soften. JS

Ceretto Barolo Bussia 2018
Quite a tight nose for now, but already showing lovely aromas of raspberries, together with perfumed, stony minerals and roses. Full-bodied with a compact palate and an array of firm, spicy tannins that builds steadily through the finish. This is excellent Barolo that’s only just beginning its journey. Tiny production. JS
