The 2017 Bésoleil is a blend of Grenache, Mourvedre, Couniose and Syrah that opens with elegant and precise aromas of bright rubied fruit. Moving deeper on the nose, there are subtle aromas of red spice with a soft rusticity that adds to the complexity. Medium to full-bodied, the palate shows soft red fruit and spices upfront, while strengthening tannins build toward the back, channeling Old World essence with New World ripeness. The long, spicy finish continues to bring pleasure moments after the wine has left the palate. RP

the 2019 Besoleil is medium ruby in the glass with delightful floral expressions that waft with elements of potpourri, red and black peppercorn, spiced cherry and black raspberry. Medium-bodied, the palate is delineated, layered and complex, offering dusty red fruit flavors of dried cranberries, red plum skin and wild raspberry before a myriad of red spices parade across the mid-palate with succulent acidity and buttressing tannins. Concluding with a long, lingering finish, there is plenty of life in this wine. RP
