Dear Wine Lover,
We are pleased to invite you to a weekend tasting featuring 15 pairs of South American wines of two vintages, to explore the world of mature wines from Argentina and Chile.
Wines from South America boast a long and storied past originating in the 16th century when Spanish settlers introduced grapevines to the continent. Through the years, these vineyards have developed, propelling South America to prominence in the worldwide wine sector. Presently, this area is renowned for its varied climates, elevated vineyards, and distinct grape varieties that yield white and red wines of exceptional quality.
While Malbec and Carmenère have emerged as iconic red grape varieties in Argentina and Chile respectively, Cabernet Sauvignon stands as the most widely cultivated grape in South America, producing some of the most emblematic wines of the continent. In recent years, cool-climate style wines like Chardonnay and Syrah are also catching everyone’s attention, with their terroir-focused expressions on the specific vineyard sites.
