    Wynns

    The Excellence of Coonawarra

In 1891, Scottish pioneer John Riddoch established the famous triple-gabled winery around his vineyards which became the core of Wynns today. The estate was acquired by merchant Samuel Wynn and christened as Wynn’s Coonawarra Estate in 1951. Being hailed as one of the best soils for growing vines in Australia, Coonawarra owes its fame to the terra rossa soil which proffers the wines great complexity and intensity of flavour.

As one of the oldest wineries in Coonawarra, Wynns has been producing a wide range of excellent wines that are regarded as the benchmark for the district, for their consistent quality and richness of fruit character. Their flagship John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon and Michael Shiraz are sourced from the best vineyards and only made in years when the grapes are of extraordinarily high quality. The talented winemaker Luke Skeer was awarded Wine Society's Young Winemaker of the Year in 2013, proving his ability to continue the heritage, tradition and high-quality of Wynns.
